Weaved Basket Drawing

This drawing was completed by me on Photoshop when I was practising my skills on 2D art. First, I took a photo of a weaved basket in my room and then traced it using a drawing tablet.

I think the strength of this piece is how I managed to make it look very close to the original photo without having it be in the outcome. I also think that different background variations contribute to improve the overall visual impact. However, a weakness of this piece is that I relied on tracing, limiting the opportunity to fully exercise my digital drawing skills.

Motivated by a desire to improve my skills in creative media, I embarked on a journey into 2D art, using an object from my surroundings as a reference point for practise.

Recognizing the need for independent skill development, my commitment to improvement involves deviating from direct tracing. Instead, I am going to study reference photos and draw them just by looking at them. This strategic approach aims not only to refine my digital drawing skills but also to cultivate a unique artistic expression.
