LEGO Shelf
The LEGO Shelf is a model I created in Maya to further develop my modelling skills inside the software. The LEGO Shelf is a model that is based on a real object in my room. After completing all assignments at the end of my first year in college, I started this project aiming to extend my 3D modelling proficiency.
Upon its accomplishment, I realized that I could have used a texture map to make the whole process a lot easier and faster. If had used it, I could have made very simple and big shapes instead of lots of little ones like in rea life and then used a texture with a UV map to select a section of that block to get a certain colour and achieve the same effect of different LEGO blocks.
In my opinion, the areas that I improved in this project were lighting and composition. In essence, the LEGO Shelf project not only gave a boost to my technical skills within Maya but also emphasised the significance of strategic approaches, such as texture mapping, to optimize efficiency and achieve more polished outcomes.
