Character Design
This character, inspired by Gwen from League of Legends, is a result of my attempt to create an original design. I fused elements from Gwen's features with those of an AI-generated character discovered online, aiming to craft a unique persona. In a bid to enhance my skills in both 2D and 3D, I embarked on the journey of learning character illustration with the intention of subsequently modelling it, using Blender for this purpose.
This project became a platform for sharpening my skills with a graphics tablet, enabling the creation of original character, weapon, and background designs. I also learned how to draw characters in various poses, ensuring a human-like appearance while maintaining a consistent stylistic approach throughout the design. The exploration of digital drawing techniques improved my abilities significantly, yet certain areas, such as detailed shading and refining angles in clothing and facial features still need working on.
While the first phase of character illustration is complete, the next steps involve transitioning to Blender for 3D modelling. This phase aims to measure my progress in the realm of 3D design and contribute to my ongoing exploration of different software applications for character modelling. As the project unfolds, I anticipate addressing the remaining elements—modelling the character, background, and weapon—to assess and refine my skills in the complicated world of 3D modelling.
